UViRCO Technologies manufactures the CoroCAM family of UV emission visualisation equipment under license from the CSIR and sell these products throughout the world via a network of distributors.
UVIRCO is the only manufacturer of UV emission visualisation cameras that offers a full range of systems through our distributors or via system integrators.
History
UViRCO is a commercial spin-off from the CSIR's Materials Science and Manufacturing Research Operating Unit.
The CSIR is one of the largest industrial Research & Development organisations on the African continent, with around 3000 employees and an annual turnover of over US$200 million.
Over a period of almost 20 years from the early 1990s, its electro-optical engineers have developed the CoroCAM range of products, from the first night time only cameras up to today’s Multi-Spectral Imaging System - MultiCAM, a world first.
In 2008 the CoroCAM range of products was licensed to UViRCO Technologies (a wholly owned subsidiary of the CSIR). UViRCO was formed as part of the CSIR group of companies, using the same CSIR personnel who have been involved in the marketing & manufacturing of the products for the past 11 years.
